COMPARATIVE AND SUPERLATIVES
Comparative adjectives are used to compare differences between two objects, persons or animals. They are used in sentences where two nouns are compared.
Example:
Noun (subject) + verb + comparative adjective + than + noun (object)
A lion is faster than a elephant.
Superlatives adjectives
Superlative adjectives are used to describe an object, person or animal, which is at the upper or lower limit of a quality.
Example:
Noun (subject) + verb + the + superlative adjective + noun (object)
The lion is the fastest animal in the world.
One syllable adjectives
Comparative
Add -er for the comparative ADJ+ER+THAN
Example: Smart A dolphin is smarter than a shark.
Superlative
Add -est for the superlative ADJ+THE+EST
Example: Smart She is the smartest girl in our class.
If the adjective has a consonant + single vowel + consonant, the final consonant must be doubled before adding the ending.

Superlatives
Example: Jupiter is the biggest planet in our solar system.
Two syllables
For adjectives ending in y, change the (y) to an (i) before adding the ending.
Example: Happy

Example: I am happier than my sister.
Superlative
Example: I am the happiest man in the world.

Three or more syllables
Adjectives with three or more syllables form the comparative by putting “more” in front of the adjective, and the superlative by putting “the most” in front.
